1996 at the Movies: SWINGERS
On September 7, 1996 the Toronto International Film Festival was so money.
Yes, this is kind of like Vince Vaughn unpausing the Sega Genesis game of hockey...
...but if we didn't cover HAPPY GILMORE then we most certainly were not talking Adam Sandler's lesser known 1996 comedy BULLETPROOF. Unlike that wide release Jon Favreau and friends were making the festival circuit in fall of 96 and your hosts of SOBER CINEMA were nowhere near it.
For one host it would be stumbling across this gem on cable.
For another host it was the above host quoting this movie incessantly and ruining the whole thing.
And for yet another host he believes he lived SWINGERS during his single days in Miami. His name is Jairo. He is an idiot.
